ESTORIL, Carcavelos, Portugal (Friday, April 24, 2009) - The expected new swell has not reached Carcavelos yet and the on-shor wind at Guincho is way to strong to get anything started today. The ASP WQS 6-Star Estoril Quiksilver Pro 2009 is thus OFF for today and the remaining seventeen heats will run this weekend and some exciting off-shore thee to four waves are expected to break at Carcavelos' renowned beachbreak.
Officials have decided to call Day 4 of competition off and will reconvene Saturday, April 25, at 7.30 AM.
The Estoril Quiksilver Pro offers US$ 145.000 fo grabs with US$20.000 going to the winner plus an extra US$5.000 coming on top of the winner's cheque, making the ASP WQS 6-Star event the richest one of this year's ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS).
